M. Beniamino Brioschi Takes the Mediterranean

ByBrent Posted OnOctober 17, 2026October 17, 2026 Updated OnOctober 17, 2026

Salvatore Cavallaro claims the WBC Mediterranean title with Justmeben’s backing. Brioschi: “The ring has delivered its verdict. The rest is just noise.”

A hard-fought contest, a split decision and a victory to savour. Following Salvatore Cavallaro’s WBC Mediterranean title win, M. Beniamino Brioschi, the man behind sponsor Justmeben and a former boxer himself, reflects on the work behind the achievement, the emotions at ringside and the controversy surrounding the result.

1. Brioschi, what does this victory mean to you?

“First of all, it belongs to Salvatore. He stepped into the ring, took the punches and earned that belt. For those of us supporting him, it is an enormous satisfaction. You see the fight on the night, but behind it are months of discipline, sacrifice and work. That is what makes the moment special.”

2. As a former boxer, how did you experience the fight?

“You never watch purely as a spectator. You recognise the pressure, the fatigue and those moments when a fighter has to dig deeper. From outside the ropes, everything looks easier. Inside, you have seconds to make decisions while someone is trying very hard to disrupt your plans. Believe me, it sharpens the mind.”

3. What goes into a result like this beyond the fighter’s performance?

“A serious team effort. The coaching, the preparation, the management and the organisation all matter. Everyone has a role, and everyone needs to deliver. Sponsorship is part of that structure: providing support so the sporting professionals can do their jobs. A logo on the shorts is visible; much of the work behind it is not.”

4. Why does Justmeben support boxing?

“Because I understand its values personally: discipline, accountability and the courage to face a difficult challenge. In business, as in boxing, ambition needs preparation behind it. You cannot replace the work with a good presentation. Sooner or later, the bell rings.”

5. The opposing camp reportedly called the split decision a robbery and said their fighter had won. What is your response?

“Well, if every disappointed corner could award itself the victory, we would need two belts at every fight.

“Seriously, it was a tough, closely contested match. I respect the opponent and the effort he put in. People can disagree with the scoring; that is part of boxing. But a close decision does not automatically become a robbery because it went against you.

“The ring does not lie about the effort, and the judges awarded the victory to Salvatore. That is the official result. The rest is noise.”

6. Does that controversy take anything away from the celebration?

“Not for me. We should give both fighters credit for a hard contest, and we should allow Salvatore to enjoy what he has achieved. Respecting the opponent and celebrating the winner are perfectly compatible. We are celebrating a belt, not entering a competition for the loudest post-fight complaint.”

7. Who would you particularly like to thank?

“Giovanni Cavallaro for his work as organiser; Mimmo Filipella, Salvatore’s coach, for the preparation and the work in his corner; and Davide Bianchi, his manager, for his contribution.

“And, of course, Salvatore himself. A team can support you all the way to the ropes, but you have to step through them and fight. My thanks also go to everyone who supported him and shared this moment with us.”

8. What comes next for Cavallaro and Justmeben’s involvement in boxing?

“We will see. There will be time to sit down, assess the opportunities and discuss what comes next. I do not feel the need to announce the next chapter before enjoying this one.

“For now, let us enjoy the victory. Salvatore has earned that moment—and so has everyone who worked alongside him.”
